BARCELONA PORT'S CABLE CAR

The cable car system, which was built on the occasion of the 1929 Universal Exhibition in Barcelona, offers a different, bird’s eye, view of the city, over the harbor whilst also providing an original urban transport service linking two sites historically related to each other: Mount Montjuïc and the Port of Barcelona.  The cable car runs from the 70 m height station beside the Costa i Llobera Gardens on Mount Montjuïc to the Sant Sebastià Tower and back, stopping midway at the Jaume I Tower (adjoining the World Trade Center Barcelona).

TRANSPORT

Metro Barcelona

The public transport system in Barcelona, comprises the metro, buses, trains and a network of funiculars and cable cars: to sort it all out, you can pick up a free public transport map in any metro station or in the tourist offices, the most important one is in Plaça Catalunya.

Day-bus
You can buy a single ticket  (2,00€) every time you ride, but even over only a couple of days it's cheaper to buy a targeta - a discount ticket strip which you either pass through the box on top of the barrier or punch in the machine at the metro entrance or on the bus and are available at metro station ticket offices and at FGC stations. The T-10 (10 tickets: 9,25€) targeta is valid for ten separate journeys on the metro, buses, FGC and RENFE Rodalies trains, but not on night buses. These tickets can be used by more than one person at a time - just make sure you punch it the same number of times as there are people travelling. On the right side of the blog you can find the Metro Map of Barcelona.

During the day, the public bus system in Barcelona is very good; there are a lot of buses covering all parts of Barcelona. The day-buses circulate from 5 am to 10 pm.
During the night, the night-buses start from 10 pm and run until 5 am , they leave at Plaça Catalunya. You can easily recognise them by the "N" (for Nit-bus) on the bus.

FROM AIRPORT TO THE CITY

There are several different transfer buses going to and from Barcelona Airport. The Aerobus is the Barcelona Airport express shuttle bus that takes people to and from the airport and the city centre. The other buses that are available for transfer between the airport and centre are the TMB Airport Bus Number 46 and the Night Bus N17. These other buses are cheaper, however they are slightly slower, less frequent and provide less space for luggage.
There are Aerobuses going to both T1 and T2.
Aerobus
Aerobuses look different to the standard Barcelona TMB buses. The Aerobuses for T1 and T2 are light and dark blue and have 'Aerobus' written down the side in a bubbly style of writing.

The Aerobus stops at various locations in Barcelona. Aerobus price: 5.65€ for a single and 9.75€ for a return (return ticket valid for 9 days).
